I've had my license for 2 years, but haven't driven since my road test. (highway, Smart)

I am 24 years old. I had driving anxiety for a long time, which is why I put off getting my license until my 20's. I did a year of private lessons a couple of years ago for about a year. I took my road test and passed on the first attempt. I took my road test in August of 2020. I've only driven twice since I took my road test.
I stopped driving for a couple of years because around the time I passed my road test I came down with a condition that interfered with my quality of life. I've been spending a lot of time and focus on trying to get that condition under control, and while doing that I kind of lost interest in driving and other things.
However, now I've come to the realization it's been 2 years since my road test and I've hardly driven. I can't allow my life circumstances to hold me back from being a productive adult. I've been relying on Uber and Lyft to get around which is getting expensive. I also rely on my Dad sometimes. I am at a point now where I would like the freedom and independence to drive myself around.
My Mom is talking about giving me her car. She told me once I am ready to start driving again it's mine.
My plan is to book me some refresher lessons at the school where I took my lessons.
My skills will probably be kind of rusty because it's been a while since I've last driven.
How long should it take for me to get back into the swing of driving?
Would the instructor think I am weird for getting refresher lessons?

Let's see. About 3 minutes to adjust the seat of the car your mom is giving you. 2 minutes for the rear and side-view mirrors. 8 minutes to initially acquaint yourself with the gadgets/buttons. 2 minutes to put on your seat belt and start her up. So we're probably talking about 15 minutes! You shouldn't have any problem at all. Drive on local streets AS WELL AS the highway. Any chance you can get to GO somewhere, DO IT!

Absolutely NOT. He should praise you for doing it.

Instead of measuring "readiness" by time, measure it in miles. I think about 5,000 miles behind the wheel, in rain and snow and ice as well as on dry roads, should make you minimally competent.

Hello J Baustian. I was responding to the OP's question on "How long ... to get back into the swing of driving". I was implying by my response that there is NO time required to be read....HE IS READY. I really don't think anyone with his (albeit little) prior experience behind the wheel would require any amount of time to "get back into the swing of driving". Just my humble opinion, of course!
Also, I am of the opinion that he already IS "minimally competent". In fact, if I believed he was not, my response would've been totally different.
