Its not a rude question, really. If you dont want to answer it, just say so, no need to tell someone theyre rude.
And who really cares anyways? When I drove a 360 Spider around, people would always ask how much it cost, etc. If you own a car like that, expect those kinds of questions. And lots of em! People are genuinely curious, thats all.
And when did you ever drive a car like that steve-o? I thought you were broke because of the wife and kids?
Got a 2001 Taurus, a 98 grand prix gt, 2000 ford focus wagon, 02 Bonneville ssei, and a 1968 AMC AMX that needs a major overhall. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51...ck33333332.jpg

My bosses old car. He upgraded to a F430 since then. A few times a buddy and I got to drive it all the way from St. Charles, IL to Continental Ferrari in Hinsdale, IL to get his $400 oil change done. Everytime we drove it we were asked questions like "how much does it cost" or "whats the top speed" or "where did you buy it", etc, etc, etc. Not to mention tons of stares, honks, people trying to race us, etc. As much as I love Ferraris, I couldnt wait to get out of it so I could have some peace and quiet.
We both drive 2008's Honda Civic SI sedans. We love these cars. We wanted Honda's and they had to be manual. I have the black, hubby has rally red. The red in the picture isn't even close to the acutal color. It's much brighter then the picture.
They actually weren't in production yet when we ordered them. They went from the line to the dealership to us. 3 miles on mine, 4 on hubby's. It was exciting to me because it was my first car with all the bells and whistles.
I threw the picture of the blue one in just to show the back of the car.

Asking someone how much money they make is completely and utterly rude and inappropriate. Asking what they do is no big deal, however.
LOL! My husband doesn't like them but that just ensures he won't be borrowing it. If I get one. Right now, I'm sticking with my Malibu. It's dependable but it's no Mini Cooper. Or S2000.
I've got an S2000 and absolutely love it. It's a 2001 and I have 12,000 miles on it. Strictly weekend pleasure 4-5 month out of the year.

If someone doesnt feel comfortable answering it, no big deal. The question in and of itself is not rude. Some people answer, some people dont. So if her friend asked her, upon her getting a new job, "how much did they start you at", is that rude?
