We simply cannot come up with cheap and plentiful hydrogen from electrolysis. Today hydrogen production comes from natural gas. Hydrogen is difficult to store and transport so a more practical solution is probably natural gas vehicles which are widely used in many places. CNG cars would still have reduced range and performance but for the most part are equal to today’s vehicles and is a very practical and achievable way to go.
