The GN while a nice set of wheels was very over rated.
In the real world 8 is over 6 all the time. Factory stock to Stock the GN come up short against many. But a great car.

This guy boast everyday about his GN. He kept asking me to race. I was leaving work one day he pull up on the side of me trash talking with a female passenger. I didn't want to race,I had 3 passenger with me. So I said what ever. I expected to lose. When the light turn green and I got in that azz. I also got stop by the D boys (detectives). They saw me hauling azz down the boulevard while racing and chase me down.. I had open liquor in the car at the time.
Happy ending, they let me go real talk,if we throw the liquor out. I saw the guy the next day and he couldn't do nothing but smile. He couldn't believe how that Malibu jump out in front of him. The Malibu I had was a beast. I had TYSON BU on the side in big letters. Maybe why everyone want to try me.The Malibu was a small car, perfect for racing.

GN , T Type, mustangs and cameros all saw my tail lights. Someone stole it at my highschool.

More like under rated. No one thought a turbo 6 could duplicate the power of a V8 until it began knocking off Vettes, Birds, Maros and Stangs.

By todays standards a stock GN might come up short against some of the newer muscle cars, but still it can hold it's own for a V6. Plus they ran low 14's/high 13's stock for a V6 in the late 80's, but a few slight mods and you're in the 12's.

Mr. Whips, too bad you don't have your Mali I'd gladly race ya, but I don't think I'd have to worry about seeing your tail lights.

You would've been another notch in my glove box. I scratch a notch for every fallin victim. Dee i'm telling you Tyson Bu was a beast. She was loud too. Glass packs and she could make them tires scream for over 50 feet.

True story. I know it sound fiction right. I did get pull over by the detectives and they let us go. I think they got a call and didn't bother wasting more time with us teenagers. No need to lie. What will be the point of it. REAL TALK.

I voted for the Grand National. It anything, it is way better looking than the big, bloated Impala SS. I would love to have one.

Maybe if I let you win that might be so. Otherwise tell us more other than it was a 350 with a TH350. Post the cam specs, head specs, dyno numbers and track times. You did mention glass packs, that right there already tells me you had one of the worst flowing exhaust systems ever invented, and you can't make any power with a poor flowing exhaust set up. Also it looks like you had a lot of tire spin going on, that also will not help you win a race.
