According to Mannheim Research, the total number of used cars sold in 2008 was 36.5 million. (Used cars include all makes and models like pickup trucks, SUVs, crossovers, etc.) That number was expected to drop to 33.8 million based on projections in February 2009, according to Edmunds.com analyst Joe Spina. However, he told me (via the Edmunds PR folk) that number should actually end up being about 35.3 million.

I really don't understand how you plan on making a decent enough profit for all the trouble. Transporting a vehicle across state lines is a massive hassle let alone to a different country for sale. Not really something a person can do, more of a business style model.

Sales around the world is done all the time and is generally NOT a hassle in MOST countries. Many domestic vehicles can be sold for more abroad than you would expect.

Importing a car is far more difficult due to US emission and safety laws.

Used SUVs are everywhere. Buy them where gas prices are higher (i.e. New England, Mid Atlantic).
I'll be like Dalay Lama. Not quite understand the question but I can answer it.
Georgia. GA is the national car auctions state. That's where MANY dealers auctions are, and they fly there routinely, buy cars, and ship them all over the country. Also, the biggest chop shop.
