Ha good luck - the new President of Toyota has been saying that Toyota has been too fancy in the past few years and that the company needs to get back to basics. If a Camry is too fancy for Toyota, I doubt you'll see a Supra anytime soon.

Let's hope not. I would like to ask him about the Subaru/Toyota upcoming model too.
I wish I was there. I would ask him when a cane, walker, Depends, and spare plastic hip become standard equipment on their AWFULLY BORING lineup. Then I would give him two giant thumbs down and ask him why on earth Toyota is alienating everyone under 80 years of age with their boring, geriatric crap theyve been making the last 5 years.

Too funny. I'd have to agree.
The Camry seem's to have went down the drain on build quality.
Anyhow, back to the subject here - yes, would love to see the Supra return, or a revised sporty fun Celica [my '92 is purring along great at 240k miles ].

I would HATE for the Supra to return. Why, you ask? A few reasons.... let the Supra RIP. It was a fantastic car (in MKIV form at least) that went out with a bang. Everyone knows that if they brought it back, it would be overpriced, and would still be outperformed by cars that cost less (ie EVO, STi, etc). Another reason I would hate to see it brought back is because, in grand Toyota fashion, they would dumb it down or do something ridiculous to it like making it FWD or giving it center-mounted gauges or making it a V8. And last but not least, if they brought it back and it was sub-par (as I absolutely expect it would be), then the Supra name would lose it "coolness". Kinda like Brett Favre... he should have retired the first time, not keep coming back and ruining his own name and all respect. Same goes for the Supra. Leave it alone, Toyota. Leave it alone.

Yea, I agree... let me rephrase: ONLY bring back the Supra nameplate IF and ONLY if its as deemed worthy via Steve-o's post! Seriously, good points. If not the Supra, then bring a true sports car, one w/ emotions and feelings, to the lots.
