I'm not going to get all technical on you, but my vote is with the Mazda 6! If I was going to buy a new car, I would seriously look at them. My dh had a Mazda Protege for a "commuter car" (his work is 25 miles from home), and it lasted forever! He got over 200,000 out of it with no problems to speak of!

Well... financing's been pre-approved, so now we're getting quotes from dealers. Maybe this weekend!!! (fingers crossed)

I'd go with the Maza 6 based on looks and more modern platform.

I like the Fusion more, and I think it has a better fit and finish. The Mazda didn't end up as handsome as I expected it to be, and to me the interior materials seem cheap and less dense than the Fusion's.

May be a bit late but the 09 Fusions have 3500 in rebates and I found one here with leather, sync, and the sport package for under 18K !
