Split the nut with a bolt cutter if you have to. then replace the bolt and nut.

Thanks all - we went the fuse route and the ipod sounds great coming out of the CD and stereo!

Do yourself a favor and at least put a drop of ATF on each battery terminal bolt/nut. You will have to deal with them some day, ATF or penetrating oil such as Kroil, PB Blaster, etc. applied now will make the eventual day of reckoning somewhat easier IMHO.

Thanks Mitch I poured that stuff on there when I was trying to disconnect- you're right one day I will have to deal with it.
