Actually repaired a punctured inner tube? Many times on bikes I still have. Never did on a car though.
Bought and used a round headlight? Got several cars that still use these.
Driven a Checker cab? No.
Improvised a broken fan belt with a nylon stocking? No
Owned a DeSoto? No
Ridden in a Plymouth Cranbrook? No.
Used raw eggs to plug a leaking radiator? No, I avoid ersatz repairs, prefer to do it right.
Owned an American Motors Rambler? No
Sat in a Studebaker? No. Probably too young to have much chance at this.
Bought a pair of Edd China's arm length rubber work gloves? Never heard of them.
Ordered a car and bought the optional heater? Again too young.
Let your friend get out and help push your Renault Dauphine up a steep hill? No.
Adjust your carburetor at least once a month? Not necessarily once a month but do adjust the SU carbs on my MG-B occasionally.
Had your new car rust proofed with Ziebart? No.
Caulked a leaking windshield? Yes, it works better if you use the actual sealant rather than RTV.
Bought a car with hub caps? Yes and still have a few.
Paid less than five grand for a good used car? Yes, have a few I have bought for less.
Watch your car turn a hundred thousand miles and cheered when the odometer turned all zeros again. Don't recall this but have taken cell phone pics of turning like 234,567 miles.
Anybody?

Driven an original Model T?
No but I own a 1924 Dodge Brothers coupe. Same era.

Started a car with a hand crank?
Yes.

Actually repaired a punctured inner tube?
Lots of them. Some of the wheels had flaps.

Bought and used a round headlight?
Lots of them. Just ordered a case of 6-volt round sealed beams for my tractors.

Driven a Checker cab?
Nope. Never even been in one that I recall.

Improvised a broken fan belt with a nylon stocking?
When I first got it, my old Dodge had a real leather belt (for pants) for a fan belt. It has since been repaired.

Owned a DeSoto?
No but my grandpa did. It had a hemi V-8 I believe?

Ridden in a Plymouth Cranbrook?
I think so. I think my neighbor had one in the 1960s.

Used raw eggs to plug a leaking radiator?
No but have seen my dad try it.

Owned an American Motors Rambler?
Nope.

Sat in a Studebaker?
Yes. My dad had a '49 Champion and an uncle had a '55/'56 Golden Hawk. My grandpa also had at least two Studebakers.

Bought a pair of Edd China's arm length rubber work gloves?
Nope.

Ordered a car and bought the optional heater?
Nope. My first running car was a '53 Chevy.

Let your friend get out and help push your Renault Dauphine up a steep hill?
My wife's dad had one of those but I never rode in it.

Adjust your carburetor at least once a month?
I've adjusted a bunch of carbs but I don't know how often.

Had your new car rust proofed with Ziebart?
Nope.

Caulked a leaking windshield?
Yep.

Bought a car with hub caps?
Lots of them. Most were metal hubcaps.

Paid less than five grand for a good used car?
Yes. I paid $300 for a beautiful running 10-year old car, a 1956 Ford Fairlane.

Watch your car turn a hundred thousand miles and cheered when the odometer turned all zeros again.
Yes I have.

Anybody?

Started a car with a hand crank?
--The '60 Renault came equipped with a crank. Used it a couple of times.
Bought and used a round headlight?
---My '64 Volvo still had round sealed beams.
Owned an American Motors Rambler?
--My wife had one when I met her. About a '62, I think.
Sat in a Studebaker?
--My first car was a 47 Studebaker Champion. I learned to drive in it.
Let your friend get out and help push your Renault Dauphine up a steep hill?
---Three of my friends got out and lifted my '60 Dauphine into a tiny parking space at the Monterrey Jazz Festival. (Saw Odetta and Dave Brubeck)
Bought a car with hub caps?
---Several. '85 Corolla had hub caps of a sort.
Paid less than five grand for a good used car?
---I've never paid MORE than 5-grand for any of my many used cars. I think the '47 Studebaker was $85.
Watch your car turn a hundred thousand miles and cheered when the odometer turned all zeros again.
---My '78 Dodge Colt. Most cars since then have 7-digit odo, I watched my Previa change to 222,222.2.

Yes, back when the odometers were 5 digit. Now, with the 6 digit odometers, it has to go 1 million miles before it will become all zeros! My dodge truck will turn over 200K soon!

Let your friend get out and help push your Renault Dauphine up a steep hill? never needed to do his with my Renault's ... R-10, 12, 4CV, and Dauphine's (I bought out a shop that had specialized in Renault and Peugeot cars, so had a bunch of them as parts cars ... built some into runners and sold them to pay for the shop)
Adjust your carburetor at least once a month? Ah, the joys of SU carbs on brit cars, Yes.
Had your new car rust proofed with Ziebart? no
Caulked a leaking windshield? many times on channel set windshields on various makes/models
Bought a car with hub caps? Yes. Many of my BMW's and MB's had these on steel wheels
Paid less than five grand for a good used car? Many times. Even the cars we're driving today as daily drivers (Subie 2000 and 2001 OBW Limited) were much less than that.
Watch your car turn a hundred thousand miles and cheered when the odometer turned all zeros again. Watched but no joy at the event.
Anybody?
Nothing unusual about most of these items for us folk that started driving in the early 1960's. Even my brand new 1972 BMW 2002 came with steel wheels/hubcaps, and the radio for it was a dealer installed option, not standard equipment. Many of my 'benz sedans, especially the lower line models all had steel wheels with hubcaps ... the alloy wheels were only to be found on upline models when they first came out.
