I really liked my 1974 Mazda RX4. It had vinyl seats and a simple suspension. But that early rotary engine was amazing how it revved to 7,000 RPM. It had a unique sound that changed from a low rumble to a turbine-like sound.
You owned a Mazda RX4? That´s awesome, I´m a fan of Mazda´s rotary engines and own a 1987 RX7-Turbo - and would be happy to own a RX of that era.
By the way, I miss my ´93 Mitsubishi Montero/Pajero V6: great car, good mileage, needed no unschedules repairs and was fun to drive. The newer Montero got more horsepower and looks newer, but the older one was the best!

I don't know about the Mazda RX4. But a co-worker of mine bought an 06 RX8 with the 1.3L? rotary engine. She bought the automatic and honestly it didn't impress me at all. I really think my K1500 could stay with it from 0-40mph. It had no torque whatsoever and the bottom end was horrible. It finally would kick in around 40mph or so and actually start moving. But it was a only a 1.3L and rotary engines don't produce a lot of torque anyway.

yeah and I heard they suck as much gas as big V6 or a small V8 but then again they redline a 9000RPM
I miss my first car, a 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon. I just saw an exact model of it on the cover of a car magazine the other day. I loved that car, even though it had more miles on it vertically going up and down the lift than it did on the road. It was stolen after the power steering pump had blown, so whoever took it earned their money that night.
I had a 485 rwhp 1998 Dodge Viper RT/10 for 3.5 years.
I've owned 2 NSXes and a Z06 since then. While they are all nice cars, none of them came close to the fun factor my Viper provided my and I regret selling that one. On the hunt for another exotic now...
