I was in the Tellus Museum in Cartersville, Ga recently and they had a grey electric car put out by GM in 1996. By 2003 the display info said they were all dead.

Does anyone know the name of the car I forgot what it was called

Thx in advance

RL

I believe it was called the "EV" and it was alive for a while, primarily in California because they had recharging stations.

It was the Saturn EV-1, and was created because the law in California at the time required a certain percentage of zero-emission vehicles. The laws were changed, however, and as such GM, Honda, and Toyota ran from the EV market. All EV-1s were leases from Saturn and the owners were selected, meaning one could not just lease one, they had to apply to get one.

great KPBS program recently on the assassination of the electric car program by GMC. OPEC and GMC want gas cars period. btw one great uncovered lie of late, chevron spokeman and dept of energey lied. gas prices are indeed highly sensitive to consumption.
