It most certainly is a "chopped top"! Gosh, I haven't seen that done to a car since my youth 30 years ago!

It also has all the chrome (and there was bunch on that car) blacked out along with rows of louvers punched the hood! A real old school street rod.........Sweet!!!!!!!!

That's a pretty sinister looking Maverick....I've never saw a nice looking 4 door model....until now. It gives me a new idea.

And yes that's definitely a chop top...though chop tops are more common on 1930's era cars as well as late 40's/early 50's Fords/Mercurys.

I really like the looks of chopped and channeled cars... especially if there is already a very sleek look to the body design.
