I wonder about this every year.

You know the huge deposits of snow, ice, and slush that build up behind the wheels of your car? Can someone who knows more about this tell me if it is harmful to the car to kick the snow and ice off?

TIA.

should be fine if you let it sit there and freeze over night it could jam up your tire so it's just better to kick the big chuncks off

I didn't on our last snow fall and the right front wheel had a big chunk of ice stuck. When I was driving to work I felt a very sick vibration like if the whole front end was coming apart.

yeah plus it's worse at freeway speeds if the big chunk of ice flys off and hits and other car it could cause some serious damage

You should kick it off, make sure not to crack any plastic, but it's safer and better to remove it.

Go ahead and kick it off. Just don't get to manly with it though. You don't want to dent a panel by kick it, or knock a piece of trim off.

Yes. They will trap moisture and road salt, if it is used.

Boot them off, just remember to use tour heel and not your toes. Some of those can be as hard as a rock, and hurt like a bugger if it doesn't drop right off.

Kick them off, but be careful doing so. If they are very firmly attached, you could damage parts. If they don't kick off fairly easily, go to a car wash to soften them up.
