General Motors Co. is offering deep discounts on its remaining Saturn and Pontiac vehicles as it looks to move the leftover inventory of the soon-to-be-dead brands, according to a published report.
The automaker will pay dealers $7,000 for every new Saturn or Pontiac left on their lot if the vehicle is moved to dealer-operated rental or service fleets, according to The Wall Street Journal, which cited a letter mailed to dealers.
I don't know about other areas, but within 100 miles of me (highly populated east coast area), there are only like 20 Pontiacs left and they are all the ones nobody wants, like way too many overpriced options ($31,000 MSRP for a freaking G6!), weird colors, manual trans, etc.
to bad my 05 GTO is paid for cause a brand new pontiac G8 GXP would be a great bargin if you could find one and could save someone alot of money who wants a camaro SS but does not want to pay the dealer mark up for one plus you could pass the G8 off as a family car to your wife cause it has 4-doors

I might go out on a limb for a G8 but the decent models within 100 miles of me are not that cheap. I looked six weeks ago and will look again next week... I am afraid my 13 YO Maxima will have to make it a few more years.
Today the best I can find is 115 miles down the road and is a GT with 6K miles for $22K. Not a good enough deal to get me to go look.

I was actually thinking of a G8 with the V8 engine, then I checked on the Pontiac website and every G8 within 250 miles had the V6 engine.
I'd love to find a G8 V8 as well b ut on the east coast.. as difficult. A few years ago I was driving by Port Adelaide (Australia) and saw the dock full of Holden Commodore's masquerading as Pontiac G8's! LOL.. I was in a plain vanilla v6 Commodore, but even that was a reliable vehicle and had gone to/from the Outback several times..
An aftermarket company should buy all the G8s and turn them into G8 STs
