A 30 year old male passenger known locally as Akash Jain opened the emergency exit over the wing shortly after Jet Airways' Chandigarh to Mumbai flight 9W469 had landed and jumped to the ground. He was subsequently directed to the terminal by a member of staff working for another airline and then made his way out of the terminal without passing through immigration.
