My fiance and I are traveling to Baltimore for an interview. We would like to stay in a nice quiet town north of the city since we want to drive into PA as well. Can anyone recommend some nice quiet towns to stay in north of Baltimore? Ones that would give my fiance a good impression of Maryland.

Thank you

Matt

Hunt Valley (technically Cockeysville, I think) might be a good bet. It's right off I-83, about 20 minutes to downtown Baltimore, and about 17 miles from the Pennsylvania border.

It's a typical Maryland suburb...lots of strip malls. But it's a safe, decent area.

agree with cockeysville/hunt valley. you can also take the light rail into the city downtown and leave your car at the hotel if you chose to visit the city while in town. nice, safe, and lots of shopping in the area. you're also less than an hour away from Amish country.

Although there are several chain hotels in the area, I highly recommend the Hunt Valley Inn. You can check it out at: www.marriotthuntvalley.com

Good luck.
