Anyone commute from Catonsville to Mt. Washington? How is it during rush hour? Thanks!

Inconvenient and tedious

Thank you! Trying to find a residence close-ish to a Marc station for husband who works in D.C. while I drive to Mt. Washington. Ack!

As commutes go in the Baltimore metro area, Catonsville to Mt. Washington is not bad. If you took US40/Baltimore National Pike into the city, then Hilton up to North Avenue, then the Jones Falls Expressway out to Mt. Washington, you would be always going in the opposite direction of most commuters so it should be more bearable. As for hubby, there is a MARC station he can drive to in West Baltimore to catch the train, or he can drive south to other stations along the line such as Halethorpe, Linthicum, or Dorsey.

Many thanks! Sounds like a viable option.

Being doable, and maybe even fun on a bright sunny afternoon, doesn't make it rise to viable.
Rather like in your other thread asking about doing the Light Rail to Marc shuffle.

So if the upshot is that rather than living in Mt Washington and near your job
you instead are living in Catonsville and near(er) to his Marc train connection
and you really have no choice to do this until a closer job can be found... you do it.

btw, did you find a Catholic School at either end?
St Agnes near Catonsville is the only one I'm sure of.

Sorry for the delayed reply...

Not exactly viable, but maybe bearable--for now.

Haven't gotten as far as schools (other than narrowing my home rentals search to within well-rated publics, to be safe). I've also heard of St. Mark's. Thanks for the head's up on St. Agnes.
