I was disappointed that there was not very much new or interesting on the forum today. I decided to kill some time and go to the Southwest Florida forum and see what's going on in my old stomping grounds. I was surprised by the amount of negativity and misinformation posted. It sounded like this forum does, at times. Could it be angry people are just willing to put in more time and effort into expressing their negative views? Being familiar with the Punta Gorda, Florida area, I saw much valuable information which was tainted by outright distortions and exaggerations.

Now, I don't mean to suggest that everything should be sugar-coated or that there is anything wrong with "calling a spade a spade." However, sometimes it does get a little old. My impression of the misinformation on the Florida forum regarding an area I know better than Baltimore, makes me wonder if the negativity often expressed here is not part and parcel of the same phenomena. When new people thinking of coming to Florida (or Baltimore) say that the forum has scared them to death (like I felt when looking for a home in Bmore and reading opinions here), I wonder what is going on. What do you think?

Wow! My feelings exactly. I don't know why we all can't just agree that Baltimore is great and be done with it. The exaggeration and misinformation you read on here somtimes are particularly troublesome.
