I've been to Atlantic City several times and my first time there my car GPS took me to the back roads of route 40, which was a painful route since it's slow! It can take 30-60 minutes to get off it and that adds time. This time I was able to get to Atlantic city in just over 2 hours, which was a lot less than the over 3 hours of travel I did before! My car GPS was trying to take me through the Havre De Grace exit yet Waze was taking me straight pass that, kinda strange these GPS do not have the same route ways.

This is the route I followed from the print out I got while also running 2 GPS at the same time just in case (Waze and the car GPS):

I-95 N New York
I-295 N/Delaware Turnpike
Took exit 26 I think for I-76
Took Exit toward U.S. 130
Turn left onto Market St.
Turn right onto ramp to I-295/NJ-42
Merge onto I-76 E
Continue onto NJ-42 S
Continue onto Atlantic City Expy E

Was it all necessary, or I could have made it less complicated? Could I have just done this instead:

I-95 to I-295 N/Delaware Turnpike then onto Atlantic City Expy E?

I went back via the AC Expressway to the Walt Whitman and over to I-95 South.. I took this route just in case there was a bottle neck in DE.. then I could bail and hit Route 1 or Route 40 and head down to Baltimore..Didnt encounter any problems (it was a Sunday afternoon) and was a much quicker/smoother ride than the way going....I did take note that NJ Transit runs frequent train service to AC from Philly.. Getting round AC if fairly easy with Uber, local bus, and things are pretty close together from the train station to the Boardwalk Hotels.. so that may be an option also.. if you take Amtrak or Drive to Philly..and park in a garage...

On a related note.. Had not been to AC in quite a few years.. It doesn't look as bleak as it once did.. They have torn down a lot of buildings so a lot of developable land.. There are still those iconic towers of a few former casinos that are vacant but I can only imagine that they would be repurposed. The are used to look like West Baltimore on the Atlantic.

That's close to what I did.. The only thing that is puzzling is exiting onto Market Street in Philly.. There is no reason to get off on any street in Philly. I-95 to the Walt Whitman or Ben Franklin onto 276 and then on the AC Expressway seems like the way to go if you cant go directly over the Del Mem Bridge... Again.. timing is EVERYTHING.. since you don't want to get caught in Philly Rush Hour nor in the mixing bowl in DE where 495 295 and 95 all come together

So just 3 ways is possible to get to Atlantic City from Baltimore? I had no idea why the route had to take me to Market St. nor was I aware that was even Philly! I thought that was still Delaware!
