It is very close to Cedarcroft and Anneslie and seems to still feed into Stoneleigh Elementary, but is it considered much less desirable ? Does it have more crime ? Is it mostly singles, working class, or families, etc. ? Just trying to get a feel for its reputation. Thanks !

Hi, Busymama,
My wife and I have close friends who live there, and so we've visited from time to time. I found it a basically nice, stable middle class city neighborhood (not too many of them left, anymore)...if you held a gun to my head, I guess I'd have to admit that yeah, it's not as "desireable" as Anneslie, and certainly not Stoneleigh (partly only due to the more modest housing stock, honestly), but I would have no problem raising a family there. In fact my friends, who before rented behind Eddie's of Roland Park (just off Roland Ave, behind that shopping strip), are raising a family there, and are quite delighted that their public school is the highly-regarded Stoneleigh Elementary, as you mention.I can't answer whether it has more crime than (I guess you meant Cedarcroft, or Stoneleigh?), but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it had less of at least property crimes (I've found that the more afffluent neighborhoods in the city and close to the city get hit harder than the less afffluent 'hoods on their borders). But, I would think the following website shouuld be able to answer that question with no problem: Crime Information Main

The neighborhood seemed to be fairly family-oriented to me. I'd have no problem raising my daughter and son there.
