Expensive does not mean exclusive (except for those who cannot afford a certain neighborhood). We have plenty of nice neighborhoods around in pretty much all price categories. As long as you are happy, who cares.
I live in Cheswolde, just north of Mount Washington. I It's not exclusive by any stretch of the imagination, but I love the place.
I disagree. Expensive does mean exclusive by definition--maybe not of races or religions but of economic classes. Being unaffordable certainly doesn't make an area a better place, but it's human nature to be interested in what goes on there and to be impressed by the architecture and other amenities. You're right that the whole topic is somewhat pointless, though.

Default Around the world

Sam Glass's haberdashery on Gay Street -- near the new juvie jail -- used to advertise that it had branches in Paris, London and Baltimore. If true, I would have been interested in seeing the Paris and London locations because Baltimore sure wasn't hot.

Actually, Long Island is far from the wealthiest suburb of NYC. It's Greenwich, CT, 50 minutes outisde of Manahttan and its the wealthiest place on earth!

Default The answer

The Baltimore region's most exclusive suburb, bar none, is Gibson Island.

Great answer. If you look at the streetview on Google maps, it just stops at the guard gate. I believe you can't get in unless you were invited by a homeowner.
