My sister and I, ages 22 and 24, are planning to move to Baltimore next summer. We both want to live somewhere fun, friendly, and unique. We grew up in a big city and would prefer that kind of environment. If anyone has any ideas on where we should live, please let me know! We are trying to be as thrifty as possible.

Also, I will be graduating with a degree in hospitality management this spring and will be looking for a job. I have experience working at both SeaWorld and Walt Disney World. Any cool tourism spots hiring in Baltimore??!?!

Any helpful info is welcome!

Thanks!

Default Hampden near Falls Rd. & Cold Spring?

I'd recommend Fells Point/Canton or Federal Hill, specimens of New-Yorkish hyperactivity, but I believe that you'd run into problems of affordabillity.

Many of the big hospitality employers are located at the inner harbor, among the hotels and possibly Harborplace (many other tourist draws, such as the Md. Science Center, Walters Art Gallery, Port Discovery, etc. are nonprofit). Johns Hopkins also may have an area open for hospitality-type folks; about a decade or so ago, the hospital opened up a concierge-type floor at its east Baltimore campus for inpatients. (Don't let my description stop you from looking at all the hospitals in the area where you might be able to use your skills.)

Living near the corner I described gives you access to the Light Rail, which is a cheap means to travel at least one axis of the metropolitan area fairly quickly.
