I'm curious about Baltimore's apartment styles, since it is an old city, are the buildings usually with high ceilings and concrete? I moved here from Chicago so I'm used to old buildings with high ceilings and concerete/lofty style buildings/apartments.

Yup, you'll find lots of nice lofts in downtown, also some in Fells and Canton right on the water. I think the area just north of the stadiums has quite a few loft style buildings.

Most old buildings have high ceilings. Not a lot of concrete, though. Mostly brick and plaster. I'm not sure what you're getting at. Loft apartments are all over the place. There are a few artist loft buildings, too -- Copycat comes to mind.
