Hi,
We've been looking at some houses in Veazie. I know right now Veazie students attend Orono High School as part of an RSU, but I hear a lot of people talking about upcoming votes to end that arrangement. Does anyone know what they plan as an alternative? A Veazie high school? Joining Bangor HS instead? School choice? THoughts on how this will affect Orono schools budget-wise?

If they were to leave the union, there would not be a new high school built. Probably they would have a choice as to which school they wished to go to.

There are no educational downsides to Glenburn and Veazie leaving the Orono School Union. These towns always allowed their high school students to choose the high school they wanted to attend and that won't change. It also returns local control to the towns, something they lost when forced to join Orono.
