Unbelievable. Didn't see this coming, especially since they weren't one of the favored teams to make it this far. Here's hoping that they can score their second world championship. At least they don't have to play the Yankees this time.

I believe the Diamondbacks have a good chance to win the WS in 4 straight games. They're pumped.

I’m in Florida so I watched the game just for pure entertainment, but I have to say between your pitching and Ketel Marte you guys look tough. Good luck in the series!

Texas Rangers are too having a cinderella run. If you look at their season, it almost mirrors the DBacks’. I think it’s going to be toss up.

Second place and 16 games back to end the regular season.

They came in HOT and were not expected to even make the post season (Guns&Roses concert canceled at Chase).

Looks like we'll have good weather for all of our visitors.

Lots of good choices for food & drinks downtown, and the hotels will be packed.

We're not going to any games, but we will be hangin' out downtown.

Good for the D-Backs, hope they win the World Series. A bit disappointed in local news who were pimping this as a gold mine for business interests, showing all sorts of merchandise already available to buy. Fans don't matter, just rake in the coin.

Yeah, that's a strange phenomenon here. I rarely watch local news but I tuned in for a bit after they won and it was immediately a piece about some restaurant being glad for the extra business and Dick's staying open so people could buy stuff.

Last night I looked for a Diamondbacks thread to post to….either ‘official’ or ‘unofficial’…and there isn’t one. The one that comes the closest asks if the team should be renamed, and 75% of those who responded said no.

Perhaps someone in Phoenix/a Diamondbacks fan will start one.

Surprised there wasn't one, so I created one and moved these earlier postings into here from the Phoenix sub-forum.

The Diamondbacks aren't well known or respected very much compared to many of the older teams (Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, Red Sox, etc.). Even I was surprised that they managed to carry their winning streak this far. But even a run at the World Series should hopefully translate to increased recognition & respect. Having a World Series championship is even more important (which they accomplished in 2001, but they were overshadowed by all the 9/11 news coverage, and the beloved New York Yankees).
