Here's another amazing thing about Halladay.

In 2010 he lead the league in innings pitched, with 250.
He was 10th in pitches thrown, with 3568

From 2009-2010 he lead the league in innings pitched, with 490
He was 8th in pitches thrown, with 6962

From 2006-2010
PITCHER: Innings, Pitches, Pit/9 Inn
Halladay: 1181, 16899, 128.8
Sabathia: 1154.3, 17500, 136.4
*Hallday has pitched the most innings between 2006 and 2010, Sabathia, the second most. Halladay pitched about 4 more games worth of innings while using 6 games' less pitches.
Haren: 1126, 17670, 141.2
Arroyo: 1087, 17384, 143.9
King Felix: 1070.3, 16628, 139.8
Verlander: 1053, 17537, 149.9
Cain: 1049.3, 17126, 146.9
Zito: 989, 16736, 152.3

Alot of times the complete games can be attributed to weaker bullpens and non-elite closers.

Halladay career 9th inning:
72 games, 68.3 innings, 2.37 ERA, 10 BB, 43 K's, .587 OPS against

Halladay makes a perfectly fine closer even after pitching 8 innings.

Halladay came from Toronto where they did not have an elite closer for quite some time.

Blanton - is perfect through two batters - well at least perfect at throwing HR balls

Between 1998 and 2009 (Halladay's Blue Jay career) the Jays had the 10th most relief pitcher WAR in baseball.

I don't know about an 'elite closer', but their bullpen was consistently among the game's best.

Well, when you are a fresh bullpen because you are barely ever relieving Halladay, your numbers will be better. An overworked bullpens numbers usually are higher(ERA,hits,etc...) than a non abused one.
