truth is this is nothing new for Mexican players or fans. Any soccer fan will tell you that.
if their soccer players lose a game they'll walk off without shaking hands. Every time.
the fans at soccer matches are well known for throwing coins, batteries and yes, even
bags/cups of urine and vomit at players and opposing fans.
if the US scores a goal and the american fans are in a lower level you will get liquids and
body fluids poured on you from an upper deck. Our players have objects thrown at them
especially when they take corner kicks and when entering and exiting the field.
somebody needs to tell those fans that this isn't the Azteca stadium in Mexico City
Evidently the Mexican team was upset cuz those pesky Canucks were running up the score. Problem is, score differential is taken into account when there's a tie (similar records) going into the next rounds.
Obvious that the fans of the Mexican team didn't know the rules either, as some were interviewed outside of Chase Field by our local news station.
It's this kind of behavior that makes me apprehensive about going to ballgames.

Exactly. In a regular game, nobody would lead off the 9th with a bunt single when up by 6 runs. But both sides knew that run-differential is an important tie-breaker and the Canucks had lost by 10 the night before. They needed to try to balance that out.
Anyway, I hope this afternoon's game is a good one and that our lads pull off another upset.
Local news here showed some fans pelting the Canadians with stuff.
Bunch of fights in the stands......
Whole bunch ejected.....
