This is a very tough team to root for. I almost want them to lose so the above happens.
I totally agree! I hope they hit rock bottom so then something can be done..
and I'm a die hard Met fan,...very hard to watch or root for them anymore.

Willie or no Willie, it will be the same old tired Mutts team on the field. No character, no chemistry. If the Mutts were smart, they would have fired Minaya...his experiment of building a Latin dream team has failed. But once again, the manager is the scapegoat. But Willie will land on his feet, he'll end up working for the Yankees in some capacity, or maybe a spot on Torre's staff in LA.

I'm laughing at the Mutts' train wreck of a season.

Its the first step. Omar is next. Then they will start a true youth movement with a couple Vets in the core.
I dont want to hear from the Phillies- you have a team of sluggers with marginal pitching after hamels. You play in a band box where pop flys go out of the park. They were handed the division last year by the worst collapse in baseball history.
The Mets pitching will get them back in the race. 5 back in the loss colum 93 games left.

I would love to see Minaya get fired, and the new GM hires Randolph back.

Sorry...the Mets pitching sucks after Santana. Pedro won't stay healthy long enough to make a contribution, and the rest of the rotation flat out sucks. The Phils rotation has been great except for Myers, and he's on borrowed time at this point...expect a trade for someone like Bedard before its all said and done. The Phils have the best bullpen in baseball. The bats are unreal. And how do you figure we were "handed" the division? Just because the Mets choked? The Phils also had to play great baseball to make up the difference, you know. And its hardly a contest this year, the only team in striking distance is the frickin Marlins....not the Mets. The bandbox argument is a joke, because our pitchers still have to pitch in this park, and the other team gets to hit here as well. The Mutts need to implode that overpriced joke of a team....no character, no chemistry. The only ones I would keep on that team are Santana, Wright...maybe Church and Maine. The rest are slugs and need to go. But no hurry, in my opinion, I love seeing the Mutts lose and their fans suffer.

lol.........I agree as a Marlins/Phillies/Red Sox fan i love seeing the mutts suffer, Reyes is WAY overrated so is Carlos Beltran, yet again anyone who is semi-good and plays for a NY team become over-hyped automatically excpet A-rod though, A-rod is way too underappreciated by Yankees fans, imo

Funny- you sound like me in 2006.
Things can turn in an instant.
Be careful. There are no teams loaded and locked for anything this year.
Chemisrty is a Bullshi- term to me. Mets win 10 of next 12 hows the chemistry then?
How was the Rockies Chemistry all of 2007 until they won 21of 22?
Mets have the talent to compete. To say their pitching sucks after Johan means youre not watching. Their starting pitching has been fine. There are very few bullpens that are great.
In a wide open year the Mets still have a chance.
