Don Carman, Ken Howell, Floyd Youmans, Pat Combs, Amalio Carreno and Fernando Valenzuela.

The 65-year-old Fernando called up Joe Torre and told him he was better than anyone the Dodgers had in their rotation, and Torre agreed. He signed Fernando as a starter and DH for the American League park. Jim Thome was not happy.

You know, there are an awful lot of wild assertaions and claims being made.

If this happens that will happen.

If this hadn't happened, different teams would be playing.

All I have to say is, let the games begin and whatever happens, let's have no whining this time (and you know who you are).

I think the Dodgers will give us some very good games, but the Phillies with the backing of the best fans in the US will prevail.

Yankees or Angels? From watching the Angels it appears they are a more competitive matchup than the Yankees. Deep down I felt that the Phillies would win both games in Colorado. Just had the feeling in my gut.
Don't get too confident. A quality Dodgers team, led by a great manager in Joe Torre, is no pushover for anyone. I do hope the Angels win it all, but as long as is isn't the yankmes, it is fine.

I'm not giving Torre any credit until he figure out how to be the Phillies in a 7 game series. Until that happens he will always be a JOKE to me

Let's see: you think it's smart to put a tying run in scoring position with 2 outs, teams shouldn't celebrate winning their division, and now Joe Torre is a joke. Please remove Philly as your location. I don't want anyone to get the impression you're a product of my city's education system.
