I remember back in 88, I never gave up hope after the Lakers lost 2 games in Detroit to fall 2-3 to Detroit cominng back to LA and they ended up winning 2 games in a row to win the title.

Can't history repeat itself 22 years later and the Lakers win the title and repeat again like they did in 1988?

Wow the laker supporting cast sucked tonight.
I was a bulls fan in 88 so missed that detroit series. Being a hardcore Lakers fan now I hope this laker team can repeat that effort...were those last 2 games in 88 nail biters, or did the lakers dominate?

Yes both were nail bitters-lol

Game 6 Result-Lakers 103 Pistons 102

Game 7 result-Lakers 108 Pistons 105

Hopefully the CLOSENESS won't repeat itself since my stomach won't be abl to handle it. I was a lot younger back then-lol

Didn't Isiah play on one leg in game 6 of that series and scored 42pts?

Yes that's part of the reason why Game 6 was almost a Lakers loss. Isiah went crazy and scored 25 pts in the 3rd qtr.

I remember that series. That was so intense. Lakers should win game 6 for sure. I can't even remember the last time they have lost 3 games straight. Lakers in 7.

You were a Bulls fan then but now a "hardcore" Lakers fan? Let me guess Cowboys fan in the 90s?

Na, just a Phil Jackson fan and was fortunate to have grown up in Chicago as a Fan of the bulls during the 6 Championship run and am now live in Los Angeles and lucky to have experience 4 Championships under under Phil again....what lame sports teams have you been following?

Oh yeah before I forget... I don't watch football. that sport is for rounded bellied fans who like worshiping a sport that overpays overweight guys who use steroids. That sport is tainted just like baseball. NBA all the waaaay!!!!

Looks like Celtics are going to choke in game 7 and there will be a home court victory similar to the 1988 comeback finals outcome. Amazing how everyone favored the celtics coming into game 6 being that the lakers had a chance to win every single one of those games in boston by keeping them close. Too bad celtics couldn't do the same in game 6. There's no way the celtics are going to be able to control the tempo of game 7 under that kind of pressure knowing that L.A is gonna be celebrating once that 4th quarter buzzer goes off.
