I voted for the first one, but i don't think this is cool. He will however help out there big men. He will be better than whatever else they could've gotten...kwame brown. But yeah him and Jermaine will be fine so long as they remain healthy.

For real? Only 1.4 million?
Agreed, bargain for the Celtics. I think he can put up better than Perkins, I have always felt Perkins to be kind of an anchor for their defense, not at all aggressive enough and does not make any of the shots he attempts.
He doesnt have much value. I don't think this is a good move, regardless of how little they pay him.
I agree but it's really not costing Boston anything so the scales are pretty balanced in the event that Shaq doesn't contribute. However Shaq does want to play another year after this one so he'll probably work his butt off to prove he still has some game left and if he proves good, then Boston will come out on top.
So Boston really doesn't have anything to loose but it would definitely be a steal if they gain.

They do have something to lose, just like the Cavs did last year. They will be worse with him on the court, and better with him on the bench. So they will waste valuable minutes on him, the money is arbitrary, this does not make the team better.

That was last yr and a different team so you really can't compare the two. I do agree he doesn't necessarily make the team better however there is the POSSIBILITY that he could help Boston when needed and if he does that, then it becomes a win for Boston. At this point you don't know what kind of impact he's going to make. Boston was willing to take a chance and it came at a decent price so now only time will tell.
You can play shaq one on one now which means he is over
