i have spurs in 6, i just dont think the thunder have the defense to slow the spurs offense while the spurs have enough defense to slow the thunder.
the thunder are one of the worst pick n roll defensive teams in the league and will hate the PNR masters.
Honestly, at this point I can't call this series.I think having a number of 'close' games works in OKC's favor, as they've gained some much needed experience in how to close out and operate under pressure. That is vital for a team this young.
SA, on the other hand, is playing at a very high level but hasn't really been tested yet. I think for OKC to take the series, they're going to have to steal one of the early road games. They don't want to be down 0-2 heading home to this Spurs team. They're too poised, too tested(the Duncan-Parker-Ginobli-Poppovich quartet) to crack under pressure in a hostile environment, and as poised as they've been this playoffs thus far, OKC is still a very young team that is still learning how to perform at this level of pressure. That, more than individual matchups because each team has its advantages, could swing it SA's way.
I'm sure we won't see a better matchup than this upcoming series.
Thunder will roll. Their strengths are similar, and both are complete teams. With that said, the Thunder have two young stars playing like they are very fresh will be the difference. The Spurs strength will not be as much as an edge here as it was there first two series.
The Spurs have been rolling and working well. Unless there is an injury or two in the series, I think the Spurs will be able to take the win. The Thunder are a better team than the others the Spurs have faced, and are younger, but still lack the experience and (I believe) the mental stamina to outlast the Spurs. I am sure the will win one or two, but not the series. I am picking Spurs in 6 only because I feel the Thunder will win at least one, at most three games, so two is in the middle.
I forgot to mention the spurs beat the thunder 2 of 3 By an average of 10ppg with the loss being in their 8-10th game of the season. They also have not played the thunder with Manu, Diaw, or Jackson in the lineup and Duncan is averaging about 13ppg, 14 rpg, 3apg, 2+ bpg in less then 29 minutes.
San Antonio is just the superior team. Plain and simple. Imo Westbrook and Durant would have to average 35 a piece four times in order to threaten the Spurs in this series. And we all know that is not going to happen. And, similar to the Miami Heat the Thunder lack the balanced offensive attack and array of weapons of San Antonio. I don't think the Spurs will sweep. But I do I like the Spurs in six.
I HATE anything having to do with Durant or Westbrook.
