Dude was always a phony. A decent human being would have never purposely perfected the art of elbowing guys. I swear i thought he was going to cause someone brain damage lopping one of those big elbows into someones temple. Look at what that degenerate did to Isiah Thomas..40 stitches. Stockton wasnt much better in that regard.
He is not that revered in Utah. Well maybe by the upper class, but the horror stories of having to deal with him when he takes his family to places like Lagoon (a theme park in Utah) and other places has made its rounds. The guy would treat people terribly, a lot of my friends worked at Lagoon during the summer and a lot of them made complaints about how he was rude and kind of a jerk whenever their family would visit the park. There's more, but in general he's not really that well liked by Utahns anymore.

Karl Malone is a jerk. That being said, all three of the kids he abandoned earned athletic scholarships and two of them made the highest level of their sport.
None of us know the whole story and even in the case of divorced couples, animosities and interpersonal relationship can lead to estrangement. So, like most stories about celebrities I'll take a pass on passing judgement.
