However, if you are feeling that lucky...I would suggest a powerball ticket instead.

I think it's just as likely that Kobe misses a good chunk of the season, isn't nearly 100% but still wants the ball....Gasol continues to fade and they have a lot of cohesiveness problems with the new faces....along with the same crappy coach.

In that scenario they wind up closer to 20 wins than 40 wins.

Friendly wager? What would be your over\under win total for the Lakers?

P.S. THe Lakers may also be inclined to tank if things start going badly.
It's really hard to predict not knowing when Kobe is coming back and how he'll play coming off that injury at the age he is, and with Gasol and Nash's age, the new players, and everything else.

I think it's probably equally likely that Gasol plays better this year than last year, as it is that he plays worse. Also the possibility of tanking if Kobe takes a long time to come back, or trade deadline deals if they're overachieving. Anything from 20 wins to the low 40s seems fairly likely.

Averaging all the good and bad scenarios I would probably put the over/under around ~31-32 I guess.

I wasn't sure about him, but ESPN shows him being on the roster for 2013-2014 for some reason (albeit with no salary listed).

Los Angeles Lakers 2014 Team Roster - ESPN

I guess they're just leaving him there until he signs with someone else, which is dumb.

might be he had a player option? if so then his cap hold could have still been showing but hoops hype and sham sports both show him off the books and rumors were he was trying to get to the clippers. im guessing thats dead and he COULD return to the lakers. at one point there was talk of him going to the spurs NOOOOOO PLEASE!

Just to clarify, the reason I'm bringing up the Lakers is that if they actually do wind up in a hunt for the 8th seed then it's kinda hard for it to be "clippertime" since they will still be hanging around in the media etc.

Regardless, it won't be Clippertime until they make a WCF and show they can be a legit championship threat.

I live in SoCal and I LOVE Clippertime coming. Laker fans are starting to realize the Clippers are the team to watch now. Really don't get this Clipper hate. They've done great the last two years especially considering their awful history.

I see big things coming this year. Signed my favorite player JJ Redick to produce some much needed 3's in crutch time. Del Nergo didn't even run plays. Rivers will run plays. That team looked lost at the end of games with Paul just dribbling til it was like 6 on the shot clock.
