1. Chris Paul
2. Derrick Rose
3. Kyrie Irving
4. Stephen Curry
5. Russell Westbrook
6. Tony Parker
7. Rajon Rondo
8. Deron Williams
9. Damian Lillard
10. John Wall
Rose only played 40 pro basketball games in the last 25 months, can't put him at number 1 right now!
I agree with the list as far as skill and ability is concerned, but I would move Parker up to No. 2 because of his ability to get San Antonio into the Finals more than once.
Kyrie Irving way too low on some of these lists (7, 9, saw him at 8 on another, forgotten about on another). Granted he hasn't become a complete player yet (defense), you could argue alot of these guys listed are in the same boat.
In two years I'd make the bold prediction he will be #1, and I think he is a solid 3 now and with D.Rose maybe not coming back to his old form maybe #2.
I am wondering what the criteria is here. To me, I think Chris Paul is a great player but he is overrated. His skillset makes players better offensively but the reality is he hasn't won much. He is limited by his size and lack of athleticism. Going against bigger athletic guards is tough for him.
Tony Parker has won more championship than anyone, almost won another and he is getting no respect.
Kyrie Irving is very overrated. He scores a lot but does little else. During the time he was hurt last year the Cavs were virtually just as competitive as they were when he was healthy. He isn't a true point guard. He has a nice skill set but he does not make other players around him better.
Russell Westbrook should be at least a top 3 PG just based on his numbers. I think he would be more efficient with better coaching.
Derrick Rose is great but I would hesitate to put him high until I see how he returns.
Rondo will have a lot to prove. How he plays this year will show how elite he is. He benefitted from a stack roster for years.
The rest are debatable but those guys I just mentioned are the best to me in no particular order.

Let's put Parker, Westbrook, Rose (Post injury) and Rondo on the 12-13 Cavs and see if they make a difference.
I don't see "very overrated"- I see a great inside/outside game, a clutch game, and some decent PG skills. Defensively, yes Irving needs some work, but I don't think anyone rates this area of his game high so its hard to call him overrated. Mike Brown system will make him better. Irving will top this list in two years.
Also, you hint at Westbrook needing to be more efficient- okay so is he a true point guard? How does he rate to Irving based on this?
I can't fault anyone for putting Tony Parker high on the list- he is a winner, but considering his individual game to some of the others listed maybe he falls just below.

How does Parker's game fall short to any of those guys? Because his ppg is lower then some? Or his apg?
Anyone of those guys listed would be an upgrade to Irving on the cavs right now.
Does he move up the list in the next 5 years? Maybe, or maybe he's at/close to peak?
Lets just focus on Rondo, and not on injured Rose, or bad shot selection Westbrook, or Parker within a perfect system
I'm not a Rondo fan-but being as objective as possible I don't think the Cavs would benefit from a guy shooting 24% from 3 point line and 62% from the free throw line. Plenty to like about the assist numbers but the numbers may be skewed considering the fact he's spent a career throwing lobs to KG and Pierce- how would those number look if he were passing to Tristan Thompson and Varejeo? We will see how well his game is this season.
Irving peaking? That is Laughable. I guess All-star weekend was his summit? or just a month ago the Olympic tryout game?
I take Chris Paul if Im Chris Grant, but lets say the Celts in rebuild mode pick up the phone and want Irving for Rondo- Do you do that deal?

Whatever you are smoking, put it down. I think the only person that is debatable is Rondo. Rondo has a lot to prove this year, but the other three are perennial all stars and better all around players than Irving.

I see a player that puts up empty stats. Again, he doesn't make anyone better. He can score with the elite but that's it. He does not make plays enough for his teammates. For goodness sake, John Wall played with some of the league's biggest scrubs including Yi Jianlian and he has managed to average 8 apg, Irving averages 6. His ability to make other players better is important for him to make that next step.

He is not a true PG. The problem is, his coach chooses to play playground ball rather than running an actual offense. This became evident when Westbrook was hurt and he made Durant run the offense (for the most part). Even with that said, Westbrook is one of the best all around players in the league. He is a top 10. Irving is not there yet. Come on, why are we even discussing this?

HUH? He was for almost the entire season, the runner up for MVP!!!!! How is his individual numbers not good enough???
John Wall should not be mentioned in the same sentence with Irving...sorry you lost me.
Irving has a different role with the Cavs which will likely change now that they aren't tanking and surrounding him with players. He needs to have a score first mentality. How many guys on that roster last year could break down a defense? How many guys were shooting 40% behind the arc? Impressive performance and you say "empty" performance- tough critic considering he was "the guy" on that team.
Wait until he has a Westbrook or Parker cast.
Why are we discussing? Because opinions are wildly scattered but look what the experts say...ESPN.com and the TrueHoop Network Rank Irving #12 overall and the #4 PG and they say he is trending upward.
Consider this...Per Pro Basketball Prospectus, three point guards in the Association's long history have posted a season of 8-plus WARP before they hit age 21: Magic Johnson, Chris Paul and......................Irving.
