I don't want to bias it up front so I'm not going to say any names but who do you all think are the fastest in the open court? Can break it up to current and historically if you want. I've seen a bunch of "Fastest Player" rankings but all seem to be talking about half court, "breaking ankle" type stuff. In the open court, with or without the ball who do you all think is fastest?

Well two heat players which come to mind are Lebron and Norris Cole. Cole is crazy fast.
Westbrook certainly comes to mind also.
John Wall and Kemba walker are the next two that come to mind. No rankings really. If I had to say who was the fastest I think I would go with John Wall.

Lebron is extremely fast in the open court despite his size. The first Olympic team he was clearly faster than everyone else on the court. At the time I think he might have been the fastest player in the league, I think he has a lost a little of that speed though.

John Wall is definitely one of the fastest now.

Devon Harris was one of the fastest but I haven't seen much of him lately so I don't know if he still has the same speed.

Westbrook is extremely fast too.

That one point guard that Chicago had a few years ago was really fast. Whatever happened to him?

In the last 20-30 years though I would have to say that Leandro Barbosa was probably the fastest player I've seen. He was ridiculous. He doesn't seem to have that same speed now but when he was on the Suns years ago he was insanely fast.

I'm thinking its gotta be something like:

1 Norris Cole
2 Tony Parker
3 Nate Robinson
4 Jeremy Lin
5 John Wall
6 JJ Barea
7 Westbrook

I've found some combine stats but none seem reliable. For example 2011 NBA Draft Combine Results shows Norris Cole clocking in the fastest times in his group for Agility and glancing at some other years, he's been far and away the fastest - but there's no sprint time for him.

Jeremy Lin supposedly has clocked faster than most as well. Don't really see it in game but could be true.

John Wall/Russell Westbrook. Russell Westbrook has that young MJ speed.
