Police Investigating an Overdose at Isiah Thomas' House

wbztv.com - Source: Former New York Knicks Coach Isiah Thomas Overdoses On Sleeping Pills (http://wbztv.com/national/isiah.thomas.overdose.2.848136.html - broken link)
From the scary/serious department, CBS News reports that police were called to the house of Isiah Thomas late last night on a possible overdose call. CBS has sources claiming Thomas overdosed on sleeping pills. The Knicks claim Thomas is fine, but police won't go any further on details. The Associated Press has confirmed the report police were called to Isiah's home, but only say the 911 call referenced a "46-year-old man." (Thomas is 47.)

Have been watching this story as Thomas was a huge star for the Pistons for many years, as well as a huge role model for thousands of Detroit metro kids. Over the years there were several locally, I think, produced shows about his early years and how diligently his mother worked to keep him away from gangs and drugs. He was frequently in the news for his appearances speaking to groups of young people about the importance of academics. As a former educator, I held him up for my own children. This will be a huge blow if another hero has fallen from grace. I pray it isn't so.

Whatever and however the situation we need to pray for him instead of knocking him down. He who is without sin cast the first stone. In other words keep your mouth off of the man and pray!

Nice post. I hope he gets the help he needs and learns from it. We all have our weak moments the only difference is that ours aren't nationally known.

Default he blamed his daughter

Not only did he overdose on pills but he disgraced himself and his family by blaming his daughter afterwards. He is not a person to look up to. Fathers should never disgrace their daughters and family like this.
