I watched Awbrey Butte outlined in a distant glow, along with much of the western horizon last night, from my front porch. Could only get a couple of tiny glows on camera that were a fail. Just not close enough to get anything and I don't have the skills from enough practice taking lightning shots. I can't wait to see some good shots from the storm.

James Parsons, of ExtremeOregon.net did a time-lapse of the onset of the storm and lightning. Really neat.

P.S. The vimeo embed is somewhat flaky, sorry....

Changeable weather. Makes it tough to plan activities.
I did get in a quick dog walk at Sawyer Park, just down the road. This weather makes for some awesome clouds.

Painted Hills are looking darn good right now. Flowers are out, including bitterroot.

Really good shots, Thom!

I hate not being able to upload and post pics just from my iPad. Anyone able to do this? I have a Flickr account but can't find a way to get the bbcode to share while working on the iPad.

My favorite shot from Mother's day at Painted hills is a bit different than the classic shots.

And the fairly rare Bitter root is up en masse in the area, although on that mostly cloudy day, it was mostly closed.

Fun day at the Civil War reenactment at House on the Metolius. A longish drive, but cheap entertainment. Sunday 5/21/17 is the last day.
