We may be moving to Bend in a few months and I would really appreciate any information and thoughts on private schools in Redmond and Bend. Our daughter will be entering kindergarten and I really want her to get a great start! We're looking for a school that is well established, small class sizes(not too small though), and preferably a K-12. Also, a school with strong academics and sports programs. Thank you! Alicia

Check out Cascades Academy. It seems to have what you desire and I know it has a great reputation. Cascades Academy - Independent Private School - Bend Oregon

Here are links to some other private schools to consider, although not sure if they meet your needs.

Seven Peaks School - Independent Private School - Bend Oregon 97702

The Waldorf School of Bend Oregon Note: I have several friends who have had children in this school currently or at one time and they were very happy.

Also, the magnet schools that are part of the Bend LaPine school district are very good. I also have several friends with children (and a few that teach) at these schools and they are very satisfied. Schools Page - Schools Home

Thank you so much! I guess I should have clarified that I was looking for a private Christian school. Any thoughts?

I honestly don't know anything about the private Christian schools here, but I do know there are a few. I just don't have any friends that send their children to them. A quick google search brings these schools up:

Central Christian Schools - Central Oregon K-12 Private School

Morning Star Christian School: Bend, Oregon Private Preschool, Elementary, Jr High

https://www.saints.org/

Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic School | Serving Pre-K through 8th Grade Students to Reach Their God Given Potential

Here is a link to reviews of the private schools as well. May help you out as I don't know anything about these schools. Bend Private Schools - Bend, OR | GreatSchools

I know a lady that works at Seven Peaks, and sends her youngest son there. Her older two are attending public high school (Bend High I think). She has mentioned several times that she loves the school. She is a Christian (her husband is a pastor in fact). I also met a friend of hers this past week, who's child(ren) go to Seven Peaks as well. She is Christian too.

That's the only anecdotal information I can offer.

Redmond Proficiency Academy is pretty good. Think it's only a high school, though, but I've seen them in action and they do good college prep.
