Geothermal is not a fence to sit on here, you're either for it or terrified of it. It doesn't bother me or the people who are still building new homes in Leilani. I have one neighbor who is adamantly against it, but has lived on my street for over 20 years and has no intention of moving away.

I came across this thread almost two years after I started it! What fun to read the info from all of you. Yes, I have moved, been in Nanawale for 19 months and I LOVE it. The subdivision has a bad rep...that's okay. I feel safe, I love all the birds, I love my tiny lot (sooo much work to maintain!), I love my neighbors, I love my church that is close by,
reading my book on the lanai
watching the palm trees doing their dance
planting orchids
growing a small garden
quiet street
nice people at the long house
a pool for the residents (and a playground)
parks located around the Estates, one has a skate ramp
rules enforced so dogs are restrained (for the most part)
Pahoa is 2 miles away
Kapoho and ocean is 8 miles away
Lava tree state park is 2 miles

I think it is a matter of attitude, what you come with, that determines if moving here is good or not. You can find the bad and the ugly. I choose to find the good! Aloha.
