Where can I get a list of homes for rent DH. I have been reading this post area for a couple of years and will take the advice to rent first. I am still wrestling with being newly retired so a rental is a good idea. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Dave

Generally craigslist - although I don't see any places available for rent.

Next option is vacation rentals at vrbo.com

Good rentals are really in short supply right now in DH. Your best bet would be to approach a VRBO owner and offer a good deal to rent for a couple of months.

Aloha - Are you feeling any impact from Ana? Or is it still too far away?

It has been very windy here all day but no rain. We just went down to Punalu'u to watch the waves, and there were some monsters. We wanted to go to Honu'apo, which is our favorite wave-watching park, but the County closed it off.

We put all the lanai furniture in the garage and fresh batteries in the flashlights. Yesterday we went to Costco to stock up on water. Can someone explain to me why people also stock up on toilet paper? Also every cart there was full with these two items.

Lmao! its tradition to horde toilet paper in events like this because everything is shipped to the islands and you never know when supply lines get cut. Wait till you hear about a longshoremans strike lol. Your are new.

Your still cool in my book auntie.

As far as i know there isn't any toilet paper making companies in Hawaii.

Aloha DoH - They do that here in Florida too. Of course, when I was a kid we used a Montgomery Ward Catalog instead of the store-bought stuff. 4 rooms and a path, and all that.

And yes I'm showing my age with a reference to "Montgomery Wards" and to "catalog".
