Can anyone tell me the high-speed internet options available in HOVE? I'm looking at a house there, and I do not believe Time Warner is going to be available there. I have looked at the Aloha Broadband website, and the speeds listed there seem really slow compared to cable. Does anyone have any experience with this or any other option available in HOVE? I work from home as a transcriptionist and have to download voice files, type them, and send them back. As I am paid on production, speed is important. Any information would be greatly appreciated regarding what options are available there and the speed and reliability of them.

Thanks!

I did see that, but thank you for the link. I was hoping someone might have some more detailed information. I'm don't know how fast Hawaiian Tel is, so I can't really use that as a reference. I've had Time Warner in Kona, so I know that works, but they only service portions of HOVE, and I can't get a straight answer out of them as to whether they actually can provide service or not. My job entails more than just surfing the internet, so what may seem fast for those purposes, may not be enough since speed determines my paycheck.

Go with Exede. $110 a month for unlimited high-speed. (If you go over 150 gigs per month they'll throttle back the speed). I had Dish and while the speed was good, the 15-gig limit meant no streaming.

Aloha Broadband has a bandwidth problem between 5 PM, and 10 PM. Ping rises to over 200MS and data drops from over 2 mb to under .5 mb in that time period.

I have been told that Excede customer service is very bad, and their data speed is unreliable.
