Waikoloa Village, Hawaii. How is this area on the Big Island? Planning to organize ownership a vacation home. Four months out of each year stay.

I assume that you know nothing about Waikoloa Village? Just wondering why you have chosen that area for a vacation home.

You could start by looking at the very detailed information on City-Data, then do a forum search and read all of the existing threads about the area.

What exactly are you looking for? Hard to answer a question asking "how is this area".

I am a outsider from North Carolina. I have been talking to Real Estate Agents and they say stay on The Big Island. Waikoloa Village has newer homes and have views of ocean and away from the crowds of population. I do not need to be on the beach area's of The Big Island. Home for a base and drive around the Island for day to day activities. I don't want to rent I want to own. So can come and go from the mainland. I would fly direct from Vegas to Hawaii islands. I already picked out a home on Waikoloa Village. Built 2015.

What happened to Sedona, AZ? And how about that sports/surfer magazine?

So if you've already picked out a home, then what is it you want to know from us?

Have you seen the house or Waikaloa Village?

Have you ever been to the Big Island? Driving around the island is not an easy task. Waikoloa is pretty close to Kona, but by no means an easy drive. Heavy traffic. Even Hawi and Kapaau is about 30 or so minutes away with low traffic. There is no 6 lane highway to shoot down when you wanna get some where.

BTW, I'm not an expert, b/c I just moved here myself, but I've been driving around the Island looking for homes for a whole week and it is an 8 hour a day job.

I've driven through it a few times. Seems like a fairly nice, expensive area, proximate to some good beaches and not too far from Waimea or Kona.

Fly into Keahole airport, avoid the Kona crunch entirely by heading north. Yeah, if you can afford it, why not?

Apparently Bob gave up on the idea of buying in Sedona and Alaska. North Carolina must be a big let-down!
