Discovery Harbor is good because you still have rules (I like some rules) but you still have a lot of freedom and a pretty good plot of land for dogs and gardening or just whatever. The views are nice and it is very reasonably priced.

I would not make it in the more "alternative areas" or off the grid. I am not that person and will not be abel to integrate in Ocean View for example.

The lots and homes are mostly kept up and that is why I bought there.

I have pretty much given up on the large sliding door and will now plan of getting two large sliders put in the view area . Millard has one that is 12 or 16 feet wide and you will just get two of those. I will revisit this once i have the first set of plan .
I am still waiting on them.
Tha is my Update.......got nothing to show..

I did get the lot cleared and it cost $1500
Wow. $1500 is really cheap for lot clearing. Did that include hauling the trees to the dump? We just paid $5000 to have our new lot cleared, but it did have a lot steeper topography than yours. Also, I think you are still going to need to have a house pad graded.

We just had an excavator clear off the back half of our lot for $1K. It's just a 15,000 square foot lot, so it's not a huge area to be cleared since it was only half that was cleared.

The lot is .38 acres and is has been cleared for $1500 and it did not include hauling the trees to the dump. That will be an additional $750 but I have not received the exact amount.

The next step will be leveling the lot a bit more. My contractor said that we just even it out a bit, but I now think that I will have it level as much as possible in the front of the home. After that , I will get into the house pad, septic tank and being upset at how much it all costs......

Still have no initial house plans, but he said he would have them in 1 week from yesterday. Lets see....
