I can see how they are spread... one day I was driving to work and as I went under a tree a frog fell onto the hood of my car. It survived 45 MPH without getting blown off but somewhere along the highway it disappeared.

We had one crawl out from under the wiper arm and stick itself right in the middle of the windshield cruising about 45 mph.
Amazing gripping ability.
