How I would love to comment. However...
Puerto Rican forum is there in the "US Territories" subforum (pointing below).
P&C forum is there (pointing way below to the sewers).

This is the Hawaii-Big Island forum.
Thank you very much.

Nope sir. Not buying the angst you are peddling.

But, most importantly, as several (including me) keep pointing out: DPRK isn't going to launch any strike on Hawaii. Not now. Not soon. Not ever.

so....

should I dump out my water and throw away my freeze dried food, batteries, generator, candles, propane stove, etc and just wait for the troops to rescue me?

Or should I assume there *might* be a problem getting me supplies in the setting of a huge disaster?

why should I keep a fire extinguisher in my kitchen when the fire department is one city over?

Interesting that when I was discussing the alert with my coworkers, the first thing they thought was to "LETS GO TO HIS HOUSE BECAUSE HE HAS ALL THAT STORED FOOD AND WATER." You know, the coworker that put a mattress on their table to "hide from fallout"

Please put your trust in the people who sent out the false alert, asked FEMA for permission to send a correction 40 minutes later. Im sure they will be right at your doorstep to deliver a hot meal in a disaster

Heh ... no, by all means remain prepared ... for disasters in general. Just no need to fear nuclear attack at this time.

I agree everyone should go to bolus' house and party!

They will certainly flock to your house with the expectation (and demand) that you provide for them because you have so much, and poor little ol' them have nothing. They'll have plenty of reasons why they couldn't prepare in advance, and why you'll be a cold-hearted bastard for not feeding them.

Got extra ammo too, bolus? We'll need it to protect our food and water supply from the non-prepers who laugh at us today. That's just reality. It's the sad reality, and most people haven't yet come to grips with it. They prefer grinning and shucking and pretending all is well.

Conspiracies.... two missiles were actually fired, the Japaneses navy shot down....

Brother in law serving on carrier saw this. Said there was an immediate cap in media to prevent incident from escalating. ....

......I lost faith in the media telling the truth a long time ago....

Hmmm. *cough* Considering that no US “carriers” operate anywhere within even several hundreds of miles off N Korea ... and considering that N Korean launch sites are even more hundreds of miles inland from those shores ... and considering that no eyes can “see” something the size of a missile once it is airborne a couple of miles ... ummm, my brother-in-law says your brother-in-law is full of ....

Speaking of reality ... since non-preppers outnumber preppers by thousands to one, how long do you think you call hold us off with your pop guns and ammo?

Days after the Hawaii incident Japan sent the same broadcast to its people, warning that NK had launched a missile and they everyone should seek shelter. Five minutes later Japan retracted and apologized, blaming the mistake of operator error.

Hmmm...

What's the percentage of food shipped into Hawaii Island versus the amount of food shipped out? I suppose we should include the live cows shipped to the mainland under the heading of 'food' as well as the rest of the processed foods. Should Oahu lose the capacity to unload super freighters, can Hawaii Island provide enough food for them?

I know for the entire state, much more food is shipped in than is shipped out, but the islands other than Oahu, do they produce more than they consume? Just mere tonnage wise, not on an item by item list. Considering how many cows we have on this island, if things got really dire we could probably eat a lot of beef.
