Had you ever been to Hilo (or Keaau) before? Since we're into the middle of Feb., I hope everything is going well. Give us an update.

Well lauraita we just moved into Hilo last week after living in Kea'au for a month. From what i have read you might just like pahoa which is in puna. Its hippier than most places maybe more artistic has some nice restaurants and grocery to walk to. Or northern hilo would be nice its up the coast and higher up with excellant views of the ocean. If you want white sandy beaches you should move to the kona side because there isnt any white sand near hilo or "real" beaches for that matter. But i love downtown hilo and you can get a somewhat of a nice place for a thousand a month if your lucky. We were very lucky and found a nice apartment in walking distance to anything downtown. I think it would be a great place to retire its nice and quite for the most part and it seems like there is something always going on.
