Umauma Falls subdivision? Is that the fancy one down along the coast? Is it a new one? Guess I should drive the old road to Hilo more often, maybe.

Check for Hakalau, HI... it's in Hilo District, but well north of the Hilo CDP on the old Government Road.

Yeah, but Hakalau isn't Umauma. Umauma is basically one road that goes up from the highway to the old road (Old Mamalahoa Highway). There's a big orchid greenhouse along there, but not anything I'd consider a "sub division" really. Although they could have sectioned something off into a few new lots and be building a few houses, I've not gone on the old road much lately. I do try to keep track of sub-divisions although there's been a few new ones popping up here and there.

Oh, those real estate people... they just call things whatever they want to call them.
I was just looking at listings in the area, and see that a single house is listed on VRBO and AIRBnB and in other places as being in Umauma Falls Estates, and in Umauma Seaside Estates, and in Umauma Falls Seaside Estates, and being located in Hakalau in one listing, and in Ninole in another, so if they don't know, why should we care?
