I've never tried this route before as I usually come in from the west. However, I moved to Nashville last year and we will be coming down I-65. The route I'm more familiar with would have me getting of 65 around Bay Minette and taking state highway 59 all the way to Gulf Shores and from there traveling east on the shoreway (182) to Perdido Key. We will be coming in on a Saturday and I know this route can get congested at times.

Google maps shows an alternate route that would get me there from the Florida side. I would get off 65 earlier, catch state highway 29 and take it almost to I-10 and *** jag over to the Blue Angel Parkway. This would get me to 292 and all the way in to PK.

Anyone familiar with this alternate route? Time saver? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've driven both routes, and the Pensacola way is really a good one. Fewer towns and a lot fewer stoplights.
