Keeper:

I don't know what you want to do with these....but if someone from out of the area will see them....someone with a preconcevied notion that Birmingham is a flat, ugly, nasty place....and then see the reality of what it is...then - my purpose will be served.

I have changed careers and these are photos taken from the home of one of my business associates.

1) The views are from his home in Shelby County - part of the Birmingham Metropolitan Statistical Area (SMSA). From Cahaba Mountain.

2) Some are from his home itself.

Please feel free to do with these photos what you want...perhaps combine with the others of Birmingham.

FYI to all viewers - this location is 24 miles away from downtown Birmingham. Definitely in the 'commuting distance' from the city....

The first view covers a distance of from 45 miles to 75 miles in distance...Due East....hard to capture with a compact camera....for those from Alabama, the larger image in the far right of the photo is Mount Cheaha.... (45 miles)and the smaller, fainter peaks right over the top of the patio fireplace are in North Georgia...about 75 miles away....

The second photo is a valley view looking southwest

Very nice pictures. What an office view! Sure beats the typical office environment with row upon row of cubicles. The hills and sky resemble parts of NH where I grew up.

Looks beautiful to me! I'm originally from WV & didn't know what to expect the first time I visited the Birmingham area a couple of months ago, but the scenery reminded me a lot of home It is a heck of a lot nicer than the tabletop flatness of northern Illinois where I am living now!
